C’est le ‘Miller time’….

Ouf enfin en vacances, même si je me sens comme un peu à bout de souffle…probablement la vieillesse…:) voilà quelques années j’aurais été dans un bar…et ne seriat pas devant mon écran à écrire cette article et télécharger des photos de la toile de Jessica Miller, aucun lien de parenté j’imagine avec la brasserie du même nom, mais on peut dire que ce soir c’est Miller time’s…:) donc commencé la page de ce tableau, ici et sur jmr-art….j’ai plusieurs de ces toiles dont je veux faire une page comme pour mes tableaux plus récents, mais je n’ai pas réalisé que les photos doivent toutes être manipulées…cadrage, correction pour l’éclairage…pas toujours réussi…:( , mais bon je pense que le travail en vaut le coup, donc en attendant un vidéo voici le diaporama

Yeah, finally on vacation…feel like those runner at the end of a marathon, barely making it to the finish line…usually a few years ago, already not young anymore, I would have went to a bar to celebrate, I guess it will be over the week-end….but tonight instead I’m setting up a page for last night painting, on this site and my site jmr-art…time change it seems, so started Jessica Miller page, maybe she’s related to the brewery of the same name, so tonight it is, like a few years ago Miller’s time…or page…but so far just photos and slideshow, i did forgot that working on those older paintings, photos have to be reworked, trim, corrected for exposure, name, uploading, finally lot of work…but fun work…one that I don’t need vacation from it..like painting…but not tonight…so the slideshow…

PS: Je suis plus pour Unibroue, Smithwicks time que Miller time….:))
I’m more on Unibroue, Smithwicks or a few others time rather than Miller time…:))

Ce qui veut dire, évidemment que je travaille plus d’heures au bourreau…heu bureau, pour arriver en temps…donc oui vous devinez déjà que je n’ai rien de nouveau ou modifié, à présenter…
Holidays are close, so of course, I’m working extra hours to get most of what I have to do before leaving….so of course, you already guessed it, I don’t have anything new or changed to show….

But I do have a lot of ‘old’ things, old to me, but new to most of you…so here’s a painting, finished in 2007, I will make her page in the next few days….in tbe meantime, the picture
Mais, j’ai beaucoup de vieux tableaux, vieux pour moi, et certains qui me connaissent, mais nouveaux pour plusieurs d’entre vous, donc voici un de ces ‘vieux’ tableaux, celui date de 2007, dans les prochains jours, je ferai sa page…en attendant, la photo…

L’avantage du pastel…un de plusieurs…

Facile à s’installer, par rapport à l’huile ou l’acrylique, où il faut préparer une palette, et après le nettoyage, alors que mes batonnets de pastel, sont là, prêts à laisser leur traces de couleurs…ce qui est bien un soir de semaine, où le temps se fait toujours aussi limité….donc ce soir un pastel, celui d’Alicia Silverstone…voilà bien des années…

Easy to get started, just have to kick myself you know where, the pastels are there, ready to use and leave theirs beautiful colors and textures….that’s a good thing, especially on a week night, where time, again that time thing…is limited…

Il y a bien d’autres choses que j’aime du pastel…ce sera pour une autre fois
There is much more I can say about the good things of pastel, but I keep it for another post….

Ah lundi, début de la semaine…de travail, donc le temps pour peindre et blogger se fait plus limité….tout-de-même travaillé un peu, très peu la toile d’hier, je me suis demandé si cela valait la peine de la montrer, laissez moi savoir si cela valait la peine…:), oui réellement…, donc oui…pas beaucoup de changements mais un peu…d’ailleurs je dois réfléchir un peu plus à la gestion de mes sites, trop de temps, rassurer vous…celui ci est mon principal, avec mon site jmr-art, qui lui servira ‘d’entrepôt’ d’images et autres….éventuellement plus de détails…en attendant Kristen…

Monday, new week, work week, so painting is kind of pushed aside….don’t have the choice…but did a bit of work on the last oil painting, not much, I even asked myself if it was worthed to show it…I decided yes…let me know if I’m wrong…:) really…Also changes are to be made to the way I’m maintening my sites, don’t worry this one is one of the main, with my site jmr-art, which is more like the library of all my works…more in the next few weeks on this,,,now let look to Kristen, the latest….a bit changed…:)

Rachel et une huile…

Rachel, c’est bien sûr le pastel d’hier, qui pourrait bien être terminé…donc vais le laisser de côté, question de prendre du recul et de voir…ensuite, c’était au tour de Kristen, un tableau à l’huile, ce modèle qui semble ‘régner’ sur cette sombre forêt, Galadriel des temps modernes, je l’ai travaillé sans trop de retenue, de ce temps ci, il semble que je n’ai pas trop de problèmes à travailler plus ‘librement’, pense qu’elle évolue bien…à vous d’en juger…

Of course there was Rachel, the pastel of last night, a bit more added to it, seems to me it is pretty close to the end…as usual, I will let it rest for a while and then I will see, but my feeling tonight is that it is finish…then, there was Kristen, that model siting in a black forest, kind of a ‘Galadriel’, mythic elfic ‘princess’ of a forest, the ones familiar with Tolkien, would know, but anyhow she seems to me sort of a modern deesse of a stange forest…did work quite loosely, these days, seems I do not have problems working this way…I like it this way too…:) so there’s the pictures…

De l’acrylique au pastel..,

Comme l’envie de ‘corriger’ le tableau d’hier était bien forte, en fait quelques corrections mineures, je trouvais la tête du modèle un peu grosse, elle est encore un peu, semble que l’arrière de la tête était pas mal fidèle à la photo, mais moins le visage que j’ai rendu plus incliné….mais au lieu de tout refaire, j’ai plutôt travaillé l’arrière-plan afin de ‘réduire’ un peu sa tête…et aussi quelques retouches ici et là, les deux photos y sont…pour fins de comparaison…

I was very tempted to ‘correct’ last night painting, mainly her head, a little too big, I guess the back was true to the photograph, can’t say the same for her face which is more inclined…but instead of reworking the whole head, I reworked the hair and background, did not want to lose was is already pretty good, to me at least…:)
Also did many minor retouchs here and there, the two photos are there, no major changes…

Et comme l’envie était encore bien présente de travailler ce tableau et que je craignais de me laisser emporter…un peu trop loin..me suis dit que je me calmerais les nerfs avec la suivante…un pastel qui lui aussi est bien près d’être terminé, encore là, petites retouches un peu partout, et un peu plus de changements sur celle-ci…encore là, les deux photos…me sens généreux…:), ou une peu comme dans ces publicités pour perdre du poids, quoique ici j’espère que mon pastel aura gagné et non pas perdu quelque chose…:)

And as I was getting more bold into the reworking of this painting, I decided to move to the next one, a pastel, close to the end line, so to speak, there too, small touches here and there, but a bit more changes, I feel ‘safer’ with pastel, more easy to correct things that went too far, but still have to have a bit of ‘retenu’, holding it back a little bit….there’s the two photos, before and after, as in those publicities for loosing weight, hope this time it gained something…:)

Bien travaillé, du moins je le pense à ce moment-ci…sur la dernière toile, comme je le mentionnais, l’acrylique est encore pas mal un mystère pour moi, mais pour celle-ci, j’aime l’évolution que cette toile a pris, j’espère que vous partagerez ce que j’écris ce soir, évidemment je vois des erreurs de dessin…mais cette fois ci, du moins pour le moment, je me suis abstenu de trop ‘redessiner’ et miser un peu plus sur la spontanéité du geste, un peu moins de retenue, un style un peu différent de mes huiles, ce que j’aimerais bien développer pour l’acrylique, il me restera à résister à l’envie qui ne manquera pas, de ‘corriger’ ces erreurs…on verra…par contre je n’ai toujours pas trouvé un titre…pas si grave….:)

worked quite a bit on the last one, like I did mentionned, acrylic is kind of a surprise box for me, sometimes it is going well, others it goes from bad to very bad, I’m quite please with this one..hope I will still think so in a few hours….of course there is a few drawing errors, but this time I’m trying to ‘live with them’, tonight they don’t seem to be to bad, and I do prefer to keep the freshness or spontaneity of what is there now…I probably be tempted to ‘correct’ the painting, hope I will resist to that, most of the time, the drawing do get better, but I’m losing usually something in term of the freeness…not sure it is a word…well I think you get the meaning of what I’m trying to write…:), but I do have a huge problem with this painting, a few titles came to my mind, but I do not know which one yet, they all seem not good..so I guess it is Untitled so far…

Titre d’un vieux film sur la première guerre mondiale, ici cependant rien de bien dramatique comme la guerre…seulement que peu de choses à montrer, sauf que j’ai fait la page du dernier tableau, voir la page 422 sur jmr-art.com

et je vous présente un diaporama des 7 premières photos de cette toile, aussi mise-à-jour sur la page ‘en cours’, plus de choses au cours des prochains jours, du moins je l’espère…

Title of an old film on the first world war, here nothing as dramatic, just that I’ve been too busy, updated my sites, too many of them, maybe I should ‘streamline’ this…so I did the last painting page on my site jmr-art.com, also put a link in the in progress page, and also a slideshow of the first steps of this painting, more over the week-end I hope…

Il se fait malheureusement un peu tard, donc ce sera un article bien court, plus de détails sur ce nouveau tableau bientôt, donc voici deux versions, une d’hier soir et celle la plus à jour…

A bit late…so it will be a short post…more to come in the next few days…:) so two versions of this last painting, one taken late last night and the latest one…

Sophie et le blues du peintre…:)

Revenu du travail, ce soir, avec la ferme intention de commencer une nouvelle toile, aussi de travailler encore un peu le tableau de Sophie, mais je devais faire la vaisselle et autres tâches ingrates…
Back from work, tonight, decided to start a new painting, and probably do some touch ups on Sophie’s painting…but before a few things, household things were due…like dishes and so on…

Voilà…done

Mais encore fallait-il préparer la toile, la palette, appliquer du gesso….le temps passe
But still had to prepare the canvas, the palette and apply gesso on the canvas…time is going on…
 
Prêt, non encore un peu de gesso, encore le temps qui passe..Ready, but need a bit more of gess…times still goes on…

Aussi quelques retouches sur le tableau de Sophie, en attendant que cela sèche….
Also a bit of retouching Sophie’s painting, waiting for drying or else…

Finalement, je n’aurai réussi qu’à commencer cette toile, bien peu faut dire…mais qui bien sûr promet…:) la suite demain
