Un groupe de touristes…devant un Inukshuk…mais celui-ci, si ma mémoire est bonne a été érigé par des soldats canadiens lors d’un entraînement…d’ailleurs les Inuits qui vivent là-bas, ont été amenés d’autres villages plus au sud, entre 1952 et 1955, la station originale, une station météorologique US-Canada a été établie en 1947…cette photo date de mai 1983…j’étais jeune et plus aventureux…:)
A group of ‘southern tourists’ in awe in front of an Inuksuk, the funny thing about this one is that it was built by a group of Canadian soldiers in training there, and besides the Inuits residing in Resolute, were taken from other villages, from Baffin Island I believe, and brought in Resolute between 1952 and 1955, the first settlement there was a joint US-Canada weather station in 1947, that photo was taken on my first trip out there in May 1983…
