Quelque part à Hambourg, une cheminée tordue, et pour ajouter à la bizarrerie, lors du développement du film, il s’est produit un incident, qui a ajouté cette forme blanche au négatif….

Somewhere in Hamburg, there is that funny twisted chimney, and to add to the oddity of it, while developping my film, some mishap made this big white stain to appear in the negative….

Donc j’ai décidé d’expérimenter quelque peu avec photoshop, après plusieurs phases de manipulation j’ai enfin obtenu ceci, ce n’est pas parfait, loin de là, mais présentable….j’ai perdu du détail dans le haut de la cheminée, pas sûr que je vais corriger,, probablement que non….

So I did try to correct it in photoshop, did not expect much out of it, but here’s the result, not the greatest shot I made,, but at least it is presentable….I did lost quite a bit of the chimney top but I don’t think it is worthed to retouch again….

Je ne me souviens pas pourquoi l’aI pris la photo, de ce dessin qu’un de mes meilleurs amis, Michel,  a fait de moi, probablement qu’à ce moment là c’était moi, aujourd’hui je suis dfférent mais encore moi…..du moins je pense que oui…:)

I can’t remember exactly why I took this picture of ths drawing of me, maybe I am nostalgic, but mainly grateful that a good friend of mine draw this, it was me in 1983, today I am not the same but hopefully still me…hope so….

Une autre photo, une rue dans l’est de Montréal, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, à la limite de Rosemont, deux quartiers ouvriers, une scène de rue ‘ben ordinaire’ en ce début d’hiver 1981-1982.

Another street scene, taken end of November 1981,  trace of the first snow still on the ground, this is East-End Montreal, at the limit of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Rosemont, part of Montreal,  working class type area, now being slowly ‘gentrified’, so just an ordinary street scene, nothing special….

eN 1985, les bières artisanales, ou de de micro-brasserie, n’étaient pas très répandues à Winnipeg, aujourd’hui autant là bas j’imagine qu’ici à Montréal on a maintenant un grand choix de bières qui se démarquent de ces bières qui souvent sont bien ordinaires…vestige d’une autre époque…:)

In 1985, the beer market was still dominated by large breweries, the smaller ones did not yet had a widespread base, so we used to drink a good but very average beer…in Quebec, the most popular product was Molson Export, their other ‘flagship’ beer ‘Canadian’ was almost unknown in Montreal, maybe a question of politic and image…:), so when I moved to Winnipeg, the Molson Ex there did not taste the same, so I became a true Canadian, now things have changes, many small breweries have sprung and we do have a very nice choice of  different brands with many differences among them..so this pic seems to me like a souvenir from a long gone era…:)

Le fjord devant la station d’Eureka, se jette évidemment dans un autre fjord, dont je ne retrouve pas le nom, mais de ce point, un satellite tout juste au-dessus de l’horizon permettait  une jonction avec le reste du monde, une antenne de réception y était installée, toutes les fois où l’on s,y est rendu, environ 10 km de la station, la mer et les nuages offraient un spectacle, qui changeait bien rapidement…de quart d’heure en quart d’heure…

This is where the Fjord in front of Eureka Weather Station was joining with a larger one, I can’t find the name of it, but it was open on the south, where low on the horizon, the junction with a satellite would connect the station to the rest of the world, the dish was installed there, about 10  km from the station, and each time we did ride to this place, we were getting a nice show offered by waters and clouds, and the occasional Iceberg….and it was changing from quarter to quarter of an hour….
