Celle ci comme celle d’hier d’ailleurs, ne font pas très saison actuelle, avec des températures qui font que mes deux meilleurs amis, sont mes climatiseurs, l’atelier lui n’est pas directement climatisé mais les ventilateurs, orientés vers la pièce, la rafraichissent ou du moins m’en donne l’impression, je hais la chaleur et l’humidité, suis un nordique….donc une nouvelle version de ce modèle et son chapeau qui serait bien trop chaud pour la température qu’il fait actuellement, mais après tout ce n’est qu’un tableau donc…
This one and the one previously in fact, don’t quite go with the scorching heat we have these days….kind of days where my two best friends are my two cooling units, the Atelier isn’t one of the climatized room but by orienting the fans, I think it is a bit cooled off, or maybe it is some kind of placebo effect…anyhow at least it does reduce the humidity, I hate heat, I am a northerner…so a new version of this model wearing a fur hat, way to hot for the high temperature, but it is a painting, so…

Une nouvelle version, datée du 8 juillet, plusieurs autres à venir, je ne les présenterai peut-être pas toutes, le tableau est encore à ce jour sur le chevalet, donc en changement…donc dans les prochains jours en alternant avec autres choses…question de briser la monotonie d’une suite de versions qui changent plus ou moins…:)
A new version, much more to come, the painting is still on my easel, so expect some changes coming along, I probably won’t present all of them, can be a bit tiresome, but there will be updates, along with a few others, to break the monotony of sometimes changing or not so changing painting….:)

Je pense bien que ce tableau est bel et bien terminé, oui je peux toujours l’améliorer mais aussi je pourrais tout aussi bien perdre des choses qui actuellement me plaisent, donc disons que la prudence fait en sorte que même si je ne l’ai pas signé encore, oui ma signature est sur l’image mais pas encore sur la toile…je suis mieux de me dire temps de passer à un autre tableau ou pastel, donc oui éventuellement, il y aura de nouveaux tableaux…
Yes I think this painting is at a point where it can still be improved, but also it may start going downhill, I did experienced that on a few occasion, so maybe it is time to stop this one and sign it, the image is signed, but not the canvas at this time. So maybe I am over prudent but at the same time I am quite pleased with it, so I guess with quite a few paintings reaching the end, I should start looking a bit more closely to the next few ones coming, I do have a few ideas, you should see them coming through over the next few weeks…I guess.

Oui parfois, faut bien se rendre à l’évidence, et se dire qu’il est temps de le signer ce tableau, donc au revoir à ce modèle au béret blanc, tu iras reposer dans un coin de l’appartement, parmi bien d’autres toiles qui ont tout de même quelque utilité, comme de servir d’abri pour chat, je pourrais ouvrir un café pour chats, hum….ramasser de la poussière, peu de débouché économique pour cela, ou tout simplement permettre à un vieux peintre de jouer à déplacer des tas de toiles, d’un coin de l’appartement à l’autre, pour probablement les remettre au même endroit 6 mois plus tard, et j’ai toujours moins de place, surtout depuis que je me suis remis à peindre…:)
Yes sometimes it does come to the point where all things must past or be signed, like this painting of a model wearing a beret, and also, you may have noticed, some ankle boots. So another canvas added to the many ones piling here and there in the apartment, of course I can find some purpose to these canvases, like offering shelter to a cat, I could even open a cat coffee shop maybe, lot of canvas to shelter them, or it is a fabulous dust collector, but not sure about the economic viability of this option, or offering endless possibilities of moving a pile from one part of the atelier to another, and six months later, move it back to the same spot as before, and of course space is getting less available, especially since I did started painting again…

Hum faudrait que je me remette à la tâche monotone, de défaire mes vieilles toiles et récupérer les faux cadres, qui pourtant me semblent bien réels ces cadres, en tout cas s’ils sont faux, ils sont encombrants et prennent un espace bien réel. Évidemment pour utiliser ces faux cadres qui sont bien réels, je dois aussi acheter de la toile et remonter de nouveaux tableaux, les préparer, si j’utilise un apprêt acrylique sur coton c’est pas si long que cela, mais tout de même un certain temps, et si je me remettais à faire comme je l’ai fait voilà plusieurs années à préparer des toiles en lin, oh là c’est une autre histoire, la texture est belle mais la préparation, colle de peau de lapin, est-ce vraiment cela, je trouve dégueulasse l’idée d’enlever la peau d’un pauvre petit lapin pour en faire de la colle, bwark, ensuite appliquer la préparation, assez fastidieux à préparer cette colle, ensuite fond à base d’huile, blanc de plomb, mieux que sous un soleil de plomb ou gesso, enfin pour quelqu’un de plus ou moins patient…ce n’est pas la chose la plus agréable, après tout on veut peindre, pas passer tout son temps à s’y préparer, et quant aux $$$, on n’en sauve pas tant que cela, au moins je réutiliserais mes faux réel cadres…hum et maintenant je pense à tous ces tableaux, plus ou moins réussi, je devrais peut-être couvrir la toile…pour l’acrylique ça va je pense, pour l’huile pas sûr…
Or maybe it is time to get back this boring task, untacking canvas from the frame, faux cadre in french, faux like not true or real, to me for a non real object they do take some real space, well back to this, taking the older canvas off the frame, and besides I can reuse the frame, of course I will have to buy canvas, which I have to do anyway and prepare it, another kind of task that I would categorize as not particularly funny…especially when I was using linen canvas, had to apply some rabbit skin glue, don’t know if it is really from rabbit skin..whouach, and then apply a oil base coat, nice texture but so much time to do this…well I will think about that….and if thinking about saving a few box, no I think it does cost more finally, quality, probably yes but a the cost of time too, and it is much more fun to paint then to get prepared to paint…well I will think about that, but at least I would reuse some ‘not real but real’ frames, reusing is a good thing I think, maybe I should recover some of these not so good paintings…for acrylic it is fine I think, not so sure for oil….
Les derniers jours de mai, maintenant juin, travaillé sur ce tableau elisabeth Hurley dans un rôle de Austin Powers girl, non pas un grand film mais chaque fois que le regarde je ris encore beaucoup, donc peut-être pas un chef d’oeuvre du cinéma, mais il fait sa job ce film, faire rire, du moins moi, qui oui je suis un public facile ou facilement acquis à ce genre de film, son visage commence à ressembler à celui de Liz ou du moins celui sur la photo, au fond je devrais faire un portrait de modèle totalement inconnu, beaucoup plus facile…
May is gone, the last few days of it were partly spent on this painting from a Liz Hurley photo, coming from the first Austin Powers film, in a role of a Bond oops sorry for the mistake, it is a Powers girl…Powers, Austin Powers, no it is not up there with those great movies who made cinema history, but it does a job well, at least with me, to make laugh, and I did watch it a few many times, yes I am a good public for those films that have one purpose to make laugh even.

Mon personnage est le méchant docteur Evil, aussi joué par Mike Myers, dans un party d’Halloween on avait fait un déguisement de groupe, Austin, Mini me, moi en docteur Evil, si cette photo est récupéré ma carrière politique, si j’en avais l’idée est foutue….mais je prends la chance, en docteur Evil, il a même fallu que je peigne à l’acrylique un casque de bain trop jaune en couleur peau à l’acryilque, celui de mon comparse Mini me et aussi en extra la balafre et en plus il a fallut que je rase barbe et moustache, ce que j’ai rarement fait depuis l’âge de 20 ans…:)
My favorite character is dr eEvil, also played by Mike Myers, in an Halloween party, I did even dress as him, others friends were impersonating others characters, it was funny, even spent the afternoon, painting a swimming cap to make it appear more skin like color and painted the balafre as well…probably not the best disguisement ever done but funny even if I had to shave beard and moustache, which I have done but very rarely since my early twenties…:)
Je dois admettre qu’Élizabeth Hurley paraît beaucoup mieux que moi…je m’incline bien bas / I must admit, Elizabeth Hurley does look much better than me, so I bow well below before her…
Et pourtant je m’étais bien dit que plus jamais cela n’arriverait…travailler ce tableau, bein sûr que non, mais avoir une chatte, eh oui ma période abstinence est finie…non pas l’alcool, ni de manger tout croche, parfois, mais une chatte, donc je devrai me soumettre, tout en étant conscient, à sa douce dictature à coup de miaow, prrrrr, brrr et autres onomatopées chatesques…
Of course I did told myself never again, finding all kind of good reasons to not break my abstinence period, no not talking about painting, or drinking, or sometimes not eating what a diabetic person shall avoid…no I am talking about a new cat, female, to whom I guess I have decided to bow and become her willing slave…

Et aussi au cours des derniers jours, retravaillé le fond photo pour le tableau de Resa, Mnemosyne et Marylin, RMM ou MMR selon l’ordre d’importance des personnages du tableau, pas encore décidé de l’ordre final, ni de la lumière, dififérente dans le tableau par rapport au photo montage, cela non plus pas décidé de ce qui serait le mieux…
And also it might be noteworthy to mention that I did work on my tough composition, namely MMR or RMM depending the order of presention, today it is Resa, Mnemosyne and Marylin in her red dress…I did some work trying to fit all parts a bit better on the montage photo, but looking at the painting now and the montage, the light and shades are not quite the same, more like totally different, of course I cannot set my mind, which one is good or right or left, no that is fixed, it wont change…
Là je pense que je dois de nouveau le laisser reposer ce tableau, aussi et cela s’applique à toutes mes toiles, pense que je me dois d’appliquer des couches de vernis intermédiaires, sais pas si c’est le fait qu’ils sont restés longtemps exposés à l’air, mais la surface est un peu difficile à travailler, cela leur fera du bien..
And now I think I have to let it dry a bit and apply some intermediate varnish, the surface is kind of difficult to work, maybe the long delays between sessions have made them a bit dusty and difficult , but I think this should help equalizing the paintings surface, at least I thing it will…

As for Maya, that’s her name, the new master cat of the place, hopefully she will soon feel at home, she might be the Empress, and I her servant, but she will have to lean that a painting is not like another type of scratch post….

Je ne sais trop, certains jours, le gouvernail est bloqué, ne fonctionne pas, probablement pour cela que je tourne en rond depuis ce matin, je vais baisser à tout le moins les voiles, comme cela je tournerai moins rapidement….enfin quoi dire, un peu de rally en vr, non pas en véhicule récréatif avec un casque VR, un peu de maintenance sur un de mes sites, de l’animation de modèle dans DAZ Studio, non pas rien d’intéressant à montrer, éventuellement peut-être, et enfin un peu de temps sur ce tableau, la dame au manteau rouge, bottes noires, inconnue doublement inconnue on ne voit même pas la tête, la faute au photographe, pas un choix de composition, sauf peut-être parce que j’ai choisi cette photo pour commencer cette toile, donc non pas tout-à-fait fortuit ce choix, évidemment je serais curieux de savoir si c’est un top modèle connue, peut-être qu’elle avait un contrat exclusif avec une autre agence…bon je commence mon léger délire, qui habituellement présage un peu de peinture, l’odeur de térébenthine, l’épice comme dirait Paul Atride dans Dune, rien à voir, mais vous le savez déjà, le texte accompagnant l’image est souvent superflu, optionnel, enfin pas requis, du moins quelque chose comme cela, ah l’effet de l’épice est vraiment fort aujourd’hui ou c’est la térébenthine ou trop de Fin du monde hier, non pas celle que nous prépare peut-être quelques dirigeants fous, plutôt celle d’Unibroue, une bonne bière forte, très forte, d’inspiration belge, double ou triple fermentation, faudrait que je vérifie, ce matin doit être rendu à la 4e, mais dans mon foie….au moins cette Fin du monde, elle est moins dangereuse que l’autre potentiellement au bout de nos nez et surtout, elle est réversible, quoique mon doc me dirait…vas y mollo là.

Si ma peinture était un roman ou une télésérie, je présume que la principale critique, probablement pas la seule, serait que l’intrigue, s’il y en a une, est vraiment lente à se développer, dans un film on parlerait de longueurs…manque d’action, bien sûr certains tableaux par certains artistes se font à un train d’enfer, disons que dans mon cas, le train est un train de marchandises qui roule bien lentement, ou c’est le jour où l’enfer, peut-être pas complètement gelé, est en refroidissement prononcé, donc oui une autre version, un modèle celle avec un imper et un chapeau de fourrure, synthétique ? disons que oui, je présume qu’elle aurait préféré une pose assis, dans un café par exemple, plus confortable que telle qu’un Samson, quoique non attachée aux colonnes du temple, donc pour l’intrigue, oui c’est lent à se développer, quant à la fin on la connaît mais on ne sait pas à quel moment cela se produira, un peu comme la vie je pense…hum la philosophie et la peinture, hum ce sera pour d’autres articles ou un peu à chaque article ou coup de pinceau, oui rythme bien lent….ah l’éloge de la lenteur…non je ne partirai pas sur cela, pas aujourd’hui, laissons passer le temps, la version du 27 juin…2022, oui cette année, suis lent mais pas tant que cela…
If my painting were a novel or a TV series, I guess the main criticism, probably not the only one, would be that the plot, if there is one, is really slow to develop, in a movie we would talk about lengths …lack of action, of course some paintings by some artists are done at light speed or like a runaway train, let’s say in my case the train is a slow moving freight train, or it’s the day the hell, maybe not completely frozen, is rapidly doing so, well all this to present another version, a model the one with a raincoat and a fur hat, synthetic? let’s say yes, I presume she would have preferred a seated pose, in a café for example, more comfortable than such as Samson, although not attached to the columns of the temple, so for the plot, yes it’s slow to develop, as for the end, we already know the outcome but we don’t know when it will happen, a bit like life I think…hum philosophy and painting, no I won’t get into this now, not in this post, maybe a bit with each article or brush stroke, yes very slow pace….there is a lot of talk about slow life…no I won’t go on that either, not today, I think I would be more like in a John Lennon song, watching the wheels….something, just watching the wheels turning, so well, maybe it is time to finish this post and do some painting, so the version of June 27th. ..2022, yes this year, I am slow but let’s not exaggerate….
