Another photo from the Heidelberg Castle, I imagine I could have spent a few days shooting it from all angles, actually I do have more pics of it, they will be presented in the near or distant…future.

Still a few photos taken in Salzburg, I do like them, but I am not sure that they will come out well, to me they do miss a bit of something, not sure what, but I thing they are worthy of a try , an black and white shot, the original. The first one of three…
J’aime l’impression que donne cette photo, mais je me demandais comment l’améliorer, donc un peu de tout, jouer avec le contraste et appliquer deux filtres, sépia pour ‘réchauffer’ l’atmosphère sur certaines parties de la photo et un filtre refroidissant pour le ciel, aussi les branches avaient presque disparues, alors je les ai protégées quelque peu en les masquant, le problème avec ces effets est je crois de ne pas forcer la note, du moins à mon humble avis….
I did like the general impression coming out from this pic, but I felt something was missing, so I started by modifying balance of greys, exposure, and shifting a bit the greys curves, and I though about applying two filter, one sepia, a bit of a warmer atmosphere, and another one slightly blueish to cool it down on some parts, I had also to apply a mask to prevent the branches from completely blend into the sky…I prefer working with subtle effects, trying not to overdoing it, of course it is a matter of taste and what you feel your pics should be, so I am quite please with this one…I could probably try many more alterations, but I thing it will be that…

Et tant qu’a y être vous y verrez une photo en partie effacée…pourquoi, je voulais créer un espace pour y ajouter un modèle, soit que je n’avais pas photoshop à ce moment là…ou ne savait pas comment faire ou tout simplement que c’était un de ces moments ou tous les coups sont permis pour arriver à ses fins,le tableau
And I may as well show, and explain…why there is a photo partially altered, more like erased, I wanted to use one of my pic to prepare a photo for a painting, and either I did not have or know how to use photoshop, or maybe it was just one of those moment that you don’t care how it is done, just do it….but here’s the painting.
