Il y a de ces jours où l’on fait quelque chose toute la journée mais on peut difficilement dire quoi exactement, enfin un peu de tout, donc un peu de court pour un article, puis je me suis mis à dessiner avec ma tablette, que j’utilise mais trop peu souvent, début laborieux aujourd’hui, sur une esquisse commencé voilà bien des années, un peu comme tout ce qui est en cours maintenant, mais plusieurs sont finis ou près de…donc temps de faire des esquisses et trouver un sujet de tableau..

Some of these days, you do keep busy, but somehow you have almost nothing to show for it, so finally got to my graphic tablet, and reworked one of those old sketches left there to be finished, advanced or deleted…so here’s one of those, already started a few years ago, like much of my works in progress, but now at least quite a few of them are coming to an end, so I guess I am better making some sketches and see if I do feel take one of these into a full fledged painting…

Comme vous pouvez le constater je me pose moins de questions sur le titre, plus simple…au moins une chose dans ma vie qui est plus simple…pour le reste, une prochaine fois peut-être..:)

As you can see, I did not bother much with a title, simple, at least one thing in my life these days that is simples, the rest…well maybe another time…:)

Donc retravaillé l’esquisse 18, toujours un peu rouillé avec la tablette, mais cela s’améliore, je pense…So I did draw a bit on this computer sketch, still a bit rusty, not quite so easy that I wish it would be, but it is coming along nice I think..

Je peux toujours dire que j’ai réussi à rendre le modèle assez fidèlement, pas tout-à-fait véridique, donc je mets la photo…vous vous ferez une opinion par vous-même…

Une autre version, en Corel Paint, en trichant un peu, en plaçant l’image en arrière-plan, cela facilite la correction des proportions….oui triché un peu…:)

Another version in Corel Paint, this time I did cheat a little bit, just by a click you can add in the underlying layer the reference image, it does help correcting, I know I was off, it make it easier to correct…a bit of cheating…:)

Un peu plus sur cela dans un prochain article…à une date un peu floue, étant donné que je publie de manière plutôt aléatoire de ce temps-ci…

A bit more on this at  in a later post, of course the date is rather undefined, my posting schedule is kind of out of track these days…

Il semble que je ne trouve pas le temps de faire plus que de gribouiller avec mon stylet sur la tablette, cette fois-ci avec Corel Painter au lieu de Photoshop, et contrairement à un tableau, je suis parti d’une première image de ce modèle faite avec le même logiciel, les autres viennent de photoshop, la période d’évaluation de ce logiciel, Corel, s’achève, et faudra bien que je me décide….oui, non…., en attendant une autre version de Heather…

Seems to me that time is scarce, so lot of computer sketching instead of painting, and this time I reworked a previous version of a sketch, actually starting from the first version drawn with Corel, the later versions had been modified with photoshop, I guess that’s one thing that is impossible to do in painting, unless keeping many canvas at different stages of a same work…:) would be nice but a bit unpracticable…

Comme si je n’avais déjà pas déjà la tendance à m’éparpiller partout, voilà que j’ai téléchargé un démo de Corel Painter 2015, pour le moment j’aime bien, comme j’aime bien aussi photoshop, donc me voilà avec deux amours….:) et les deux se comparent mais ont aussi leurs points forts et faibles, ou tout simplement que je ne les connais pas encore suffisamment…

Not like I did not have already a strong tendancy to spread out a bit too much for the time I have to do artwork besides working…I downloaded a try out version of Corel Painter 2015, so far I am enjoying it, even if being more used to photoshop, I am still finding it akward to do some basic thing, have to relearn…so now I have two more ‘love’…still trying to find their advantages and downs, but so far I would like to work with both…

I like the textures, and I do like the numerous possibility of variying the way the brushes work / J’aime bien les textures et les outils disponibles, plus de possibilités de varier les traits, textures, etc

Mais comme je voulais arriver plus rapidement à quelque chose, j’ai continué dans photoshop /  As I am more comfortable in Photoshop, I went back to my other love…

Aussi je dois dire qu’en même temps, j’apprends encore à peaufiner les réglages et maniement du stylet, ce qui sera bien autant pour un que l’autre logiciel…And  I am still learning how to adjust my stylus so it does handle more like a natural way to draw, which would be a good thing either with Corel or Adobe…

Reste  à voir si éventuellement ce sera un tableau à l’huile, acrylique, un pastel, une aquarelle…j’ai déjà mentionné que j’ai tendance à m’éparpiller et à dessiner des femmes portant des bottes…:)

Now I have to see if eventually there will be  a pastel, or maybe an oil painting, or acrylic, unless watercolor would be nice too, did I say that I have some tendancy to spread out…and love painting women wearing boots…:)
