Drable…grisé en fait…/Drable, dull and grey in fact…

Une autre photo, noir et blanc au départ du château de Holhensalzburg, en fait je la trouvais ‘drable’ et bien grise, donc le cheminement inverse de ce que je fais à l’occasion, soit de transformer une photo couleur qui en manque de la couleur en photo noir et blanc,  ici ajouté un peu de couleur….la photo originale, non sans charme, mais drable…

Another picture, black and white to start with, of the Holhensalzburg Castle, in fact I thought it did look ‘drable’ dull, kind of a grayish dull…charming maybe but definitely dull…so contrary at what I do with color photo lacking colors and turning them into black and white, I turn this one in color, subtle color, here’s the original, maybe charming dully grey original…

Donc un peu de couleur, quoique peut-on appeler une teinte sépia de la couleur, oui dans un sens, mais pour moi c’est tout simplement ajouter un semblant, un fantôme de couleur, mais qui la rend, cette photo plus intéressante, du moins je l’espère…aussi bien sûr j’ai beaucoup varié la distribution des gris ou gris ‘sépiatisés…:)’, et modifié le contraste, donc cette version triturée de la version originale, qui je le souhaite est moins drable maintenant…

So a bit more of color, but is sepia a color? of course it is, but to me it is more a colorant for greys….kind of a hint of a colored world, but usually it does bring warmth and hopefully correct the dullness I felt looking at the original…also of course I did quite a bit of manipulations on the greys distribution, those sepiatized greys….and here’s the version, hopefully less ‘drable’ and more interesting, maybe?

Photoshop, pour une photo qui je dois l’avouer est un peu trop ordinaire, et en plus j’avais mal placé le négatif sur le support, donc on voit la bordure du négatif, j’aurais évidemment pu le renémuriser mais je ne trouvais que cette photo en valait la peine. Alors je me suis dit que je pourrais essayer quelques effets et réglages dans photoshop, la photo originale…

Photoshop for a rather ordinary photo, not very well done either in the way I took the pic and on top of that, I did not set the negative correctly on the scan slide holder, or it is simply badly set in the slide holder, did not feel like it was worth to try to set it right, but maybe I could try a few tricks in photoshop, here’s the original photo….

Hambourg, Copenhague? 1986-oct

Quelques essais en modifiant la distribution des couleurs, en corrigeant l’exposition, et en jouant avec ‘les courbes’, finalement décidé d’appliquer un filtre sépia, tout en modifiant le ciel en le blanchissant….Je sens que j’ai besoin d’explorer un peu plus tous ces réglages et effets disponibles, je suis loin d’être un ‘expert’ avec ce logiciel, il ne me reste qu’à l’explorer un peu plus je présume…ou de faire plus attention lorsque je photographie, mais celle-ci date de 1986, je ne suis vraiment pas sûr de l’endroit, Copenhague, Hambourg, Gôteborg…un jour je retracerai peut-être l’endroit…

A few try outs, modifying the distribution curbs for exposure, contrast, and playing with a few others effects, making part of the pictures, and finally using a black and white and sepia filter on top of all or mixed with all those modifications…I guess the simpler thing is to take a good photo, and not relying on software to correct it…but sometimes you have to do with what you have, or leave it in a desk drawer. By the way the only thing I do remember about this photo, is I know it was taken in october-november 1986, maybe in Copenhagen, Hamburg or Gôteborg..but can’t say for sure…
