Yes this one went a bit wild, or let it going loose, laché lousse en québécois..:) From a sketch featuring top model Lonneke Engel, I think her best years as a model were in the 80s or maybe 90s, yes like me a bit old now…:) but I still like her very much…so a bit of the same recipe I am using over the last few sketches versions, some layer transparency or semi transparent, and effects that are more Photoshop or photography style, like playing with curves (distribution of lights and darks), black and white levels, rendering colors in black or white, and of course some added layers with a bit, quite a bit of drawing, erasing, applying colors, getting back to transparent pixels, yes a bit of everything leading to this quite wild version…I love those, hopefully you do as well…not a must to me, but still, I would appreciate if you do as well..:)

Peu-être aussi bien présenter la version précédente, plus réaliste…may as well show to you the previous version, which is a more realistic version…

Of course, this version is still there, on off layers…so evidently, they can be brought back and I have the feeling that somehow, they will be back sometimes…

  1. It’s hard to separate them. I like both… But the ‘less’ realistic one holds my eye more. I enjoy the impressionistic style of painting/drawing. It is softer and leaves more for the imagination!

    • Thank you Carolyn, yes each version has its own appeal I think, when looking back to some of my other works where I did many version, most of the time, each one reveal something different, sometime it is planned, more of my choices, other times, depending of the tool used, it is a bit more unpredictable, which in turn open new view and ideas, I guess each manipulation is feeding another version, lots of freedom, just trying not to get lost…but if I do, just have to flushed it out…:D

  2. Love the differences. The first one is exciting. Love it, all the crazy & colours. Also, there is something appealing about the really washed out skin tone that is attractive.
It reminds me of mid 1980’s fashion photography where overexposure was so popular. xx

    • Thank you Resa, yes there is definitely something special about the ‘altered’ version, those effects and manipulations are a bit unpredictable, more on a try and see what does happen, but I like those versions, leaving space to the unexpected.
