Parfois un de nos tableaux nous surprend, Le style, le sujet restent les mêmes, mais quelque chose de différent se produit, quelque chose que je ne retrouve pas toujours dans mes tableaux, et là la question se pose, je l’arrête là et je le laisse tel quel, comme une piste à suivre pour d’autres ou je le pousse encore un peu, avec ce que cela comporte de risques…

Sometimes, strange things happen with a painting, the style, the subject are still familiar but somehow it is different from what we usually do, I think this one is a good example of this, can’t say why it does me feel like this, and I am getting to a point where I am asking myself, I leave it there, even if to me it is not finished, but keep it this way, like ‘a benchmark’, a reminder of something I may try to develop, or I keep going a bit, to get it right where I want it, but this is often a risky path…
