Une esquisse, modèle vivant, 5 min, triché un peu dans Photoshop, filtre lumière chaude, et autres calques d’ajustements…on peut bien tricher un peu en image….:)
A life model sketch, 5 min pose, with a bit of Photoshop cheating, warming filter, actually a mix of layers filters, but without altering much the sketch itself…I guess a bit of cheating is okay here…
Une pose de 5 minutes, session d’automne terminée…10 séances, je suis encore à la première, beaucoup de photos à faire et présentation, donc j’ai de quoi m’occuper jusqu’au 17 janvier prochain, début de la session d’hiver, donc comme on dit ici, grouille toé le c… pas besoin de terminer l’expression je crois…:D
A first 5 min pose sketch, still on the first session of the 10 sessions I had this fall, last one yesterday, so I have an enormous amount of photo and posting to do before next winter session, which will begin next January, the 17 th…so get going you lazy ..won’t complete the sentence…:D
Pour le moment, je n’ai que les 3 premières esquisses, des poses de 1 minute, chaque esquisse demande un peu de travail d’édition dans Photoshop, les autres suivront…éventuellement…dans enfin on verra… 🙂
For now I do have the 3 first sketches, 1 minute poses, each do require some work in Photoshop to get them to the right size and all, so there will be more for sure, the only thing I can’t set for now is the timetable…sometimes…will see I guess …:)
Non pas encore inscrit, je dois penser au coût de séances de modèles vivants…mais j’y pense sérieusement, je serais probablement dû pour un ‘retour’….en attendant, vais mettre à jour quelques-unes de ces esquisses…question de me rappeler et de me convaincre que je devrais le faire….
Not yet registered to a new life model session, it is costly, at least in me present situation, but I am thinking quite a bit about getting back to it, I think I am due…In the meantime, should start getting some of those numerous sketches ready for my sites, by the same token maybe I will convince myself to go for it…

Oui une réouverture en quelque sorte, j’ai recommencé à mettre des choses sur mes sites, dessiné un peu à la tablette, mais je n’avais pas encore complètement réinstallé mon espace de travail, pour toutes sortes de raisons, j’ai changé l’arrangement que j’avais depuis près de 30 ans….un peu difficile de s’y habituer, on verra, la lumière est différente, plus confortable dans un sens, plus près des fenêtre, aération un peu meilleure, mais moins d’espace pour prendre du recul face au tableau, enfin on verra à l’usage et ce soir grande première, ouverture officielle et premiers coups de pinceaux…la photo peu avant ce beau moment….
Yes kind of sort of a reopening of my workspace space, since I moved here more than 30 years ago, always had the same setup for the atelier, decided to rearrange it, so tonight is the first time I do touch my brushes over more than a year, of course I did reworked my sites with old stuff waiting to be put online, draw a little bit with my graphic tablet, but this is a first for painting tonight, so the opening…kind of a bit difficult to get used to the new setup, I like the new setup, closer to windows, the other rooms, sound system, tv, and in summer closer to the air conditionner, a bit fresher, but I like to paint standing and moving back and forth to the easel, not enough space to do that, enough to stand and move a bit but not like before, will probably get used to it, or I will rearrange it one more time…
Mais je pense que c’est la première fois que je retravaille au chevalet depuis l’arrivée de la nouvelle locataire de la place, une squateuse…Maya, qui a pris possession de l’atelier depuis juillet 22, un peu grâce à ma nonchalance, paresse et mon manque d’entrain pour la peinture pendant cette période, donc subtilement au cours des jours, ses jouets, les choses que je ne savais trop où placer dans l’appartement s’y sont accumulés et c’était devenu son royaume..jusqu’à ce soir, pas facile de peindre ce soir, elle est très affectueuse et me fait savoir que c’est sa place….et ne cesse de demander de l’attention, tout en étant un peu frustrée la pauvre petite chatte….elle va s’y faire je pense, ou moi je vais m’habituer à peindre avec une chatte dans mes jambes…me reste à installer le purificateur d’air, je ne me suis jamais trop inquiété de la qualité de l’air lorsque je peins à l’huile et que les fenêtres sont fermées, on a des hivers, de moins en moins longs mais tout de même…et avec Maya, qui rôde toujours autour de ma palette, le chevalet, en fait probablement moi, ben je me suis dit qu’il fallait penser à ses poumons et accessoirement aux miens…:)
I think it is the first time I am painting since July 22, the time when my new Squatter came in, Maya my cat, she kind of had taken the place, with my blessing or laziness, I did not anticipate the future problem, was not much into painting for the last year, so the place, my old Atelier, fill itself with unused things I did not know where to place, most of the cat toy’s are there, including some of my brushes, so it did became her kingdom or Queen Maya princess, dom…until tonight that is, she’s a bit worried or upset, and as usual she’s letting me know that I should take care of her, she’s quite affectionate so she keep asking for my attention, could barely paint, I guess she will have to get used to it, or I will have to get used to paint with a cat roaming around the easel, the palette…no Maya, oil paints and turpentine aren’t good for you, and probably me too, especially going into the fall and winter months, not as cold as they used to be but enough to shut up all windows…never been too worried about oil painting fumes for me, but since princess Maya came in, and her habit of staying around the painting area…I became worried about her breathing those fumes, so I bought an air purifier, besides it should also be good for me, never bothered for all these years, just needed a bit too affectious cat to decide me..:)
Ma nouvelle chatte, est arrivée voilà quelques semaines, l’acclimation a été difficile….pendant les 13 premiers jours, je la voyais à peine et lorsque c’était le cas et que je faisais à peine un geste pour m’approcher d’elle, elle s’enfuyait derrière le sofa ou un autre coin de l’appartement et chez moi, croyez-moi, les coins pour se cacher sont nombreux. Finalement le soir du 23 juillet, en une heure c’est passé de la fuite, à ce qu’elle ne me lâche plus, l’amour total…elle a probablement jugé que son humain ferait un esclave digne d’elle….princesse des chattes…Maya première….:)
My new female cat did arrived a few weeks ago…took her 13 days of hiding, running away as soon as I was just trying to approach her, going hiding behind the sofa or couch or any hiding places in the apartment, and believe me there is many many spots for hiding here for a shy cat, and then one night on July 23 rd, 13 days of hiding were over, in about an hour she went from running away to not let me go anywhere and follow me, reaching for my legs, asking to be pet, a 180 turn in an hour, she probably realized, well this human slave seems okay after all, I will make him mine….so here her Majesty, Maya the first….:)

Now I think I did win her trust, I won her, or maybe it is vice-versa, and she own me now…:D
Maintenant je dois lui apprendre à ne pas me suivre partout dans l’atelier, elle ne s’est pas tachée d’huile encore, mais je sens que cela est très possible et probable à moins que je ne réussisse à lui faire comprendre qu’il vaudrait mieux pas…..elle a aussi essayé de mettre ses pattes sur la toile….à défaut de pouvoir les mettre sur mes jambes…
Now I have to teach her not to follow each of my steps while painting, did not smear herself with my oil palette, but it is highly probable that she will if she continue like that, also she like to put her paws on me, and if not accessible on the canvas…a bit of training needed I guess…
Il semble que ces jours ci, ma production d’articles est inversement proportionnelle à la chaleur, donc quelques minutes de libre entre deux choses, temps pour une esquisse, j’écris plutôt mal, donc je pense que c’était en mai 2016, doit finir le ménage de l’atelier, cela encouragera ma nouvelle chatte qui semble me prendre pour un monstre, ou un ogre, elle me regarde de loin et se cache lorsque j’approche, presque deux semaines, je présume qu’elle comprendra, je lui dit tant bien que mal en chat, mowemm miou, brrr prrr, mwoau, hummmbrbrbr ce qui librement traduit devrait dire, ‘non je ne la mangerai pas, je ne te ferai pas de mal, seulement te flatter un peu, donner à manger, nettoyer ta litière’…un jour la traduction passera…:)
Seems that planning my post schedule is inversely proportional to the heat, so a bit of free time now, just enough to squeeze in a photo of a sketch made during a life model session, May 2016, I think, my hand writing is not that good, so this is , probably, a 20 minutes sketch, more to come if some day I do finished putting order in my studio, my new cat, she hopes for it, I think, since she’s hiding away as soon as I do approach her, almost 2 weeks now, I try to tell her in cat ‘meeoww meouww brrr prrr prrrr prrr, meaning I am not a monster or an ogre, just a human, living in a somewhat strange place, and there is no danger, no danger, just want to pet you a little bit…
Je suis certain que c’est une esquisse de modèle vivant, j’ai écrit 20 minutes, elle me semble bien peu avancé cette esquisse, probablement un 2e essai après un premier qui n’allait pas, d’ailleurs pas sûr si c’est un ou une modèle, disons que c’est une esquisse peu définie, quoiqu’elle présente un certain intérêt, du moins suffisamment afin de remplir l’espace d’un article en ce dimanche matin…
For sure this is a life model session sketch, I wrote 20 minutes, usually it would be more defined, so I guess it is a 2 nd one after a failed first attempt…or to save the first and try another one, so it is not well defined, can even say for sure if the model is a she or a he, so this is an undefined sketch, maybe not my best one, but good enough to fill the space for Sunday morning post…
Pas encore eu bien de temps pour préparer quelque chose, mais voilà quelques jours, en faisant plus de place, du moins en essayant…donc de mettre un peu d’ordre pour rendre l’atelier, plus convivial et à l’épreuve de la nouvelle chatte, toujours en acclimation d’ailleurs, la nouvelle chatte, je me suis rendu compte que je j’ai des centaines, en fait plusieurs esquisses, comme celle présentée ci-dessous, donc pour les fameux remplissage, j’ai beaucoup de matériel et de clichés à faire, donc pour aujourd’hui en voilà une…un trou de rempli…
Did not have or more like taken the time to prepare something yet, so why not filling those gaps with one of the many, a few hundreds, of life model sketches, I realized last few days while getting the atelier more comfy for me and my new cat, still getting acclimated the new cat, soon I hope to have new photos to present her…so to fill one of these gaps, why not photographing those sketches and present them, at the same thing not bad to have some record of those many, many sketches…something I have the information, like date, pose time, etc, sometimes just the date..so here’s a first one since a long time, when I was doing systematic presentation of model life session…
Non j’aurais un peu de difficulté à expliquer ce titre….en peignant cet avant midi d’après un montage photo d’une modèle virtuelle, genre de poupée animée en Poser ou Daz Studio, des logiciels on peut créer des scène, sais pas pourquoi, ce film m’est venu à l’esprit, la pilule rouge ou bleu, choix un peu simpliste lorsqu’on peint, pas de verts, orangés, violets mauves…un peu limité comme choix de monde virtuel, donc je vais devoir improviser et créer le mien il semble…
Don’t ask me about the title, painting and the Matrix, and some virtual model posed in 3d software where you can play, pose and create scenes using models and props, take the blue pill and you’re in, the red and you’re not, kind of a simplistic choice regarding colors it does seems, what about the other colors ? no violets, green or mauve, to be on the fauve side of painting, or yellows, sienna and umbers, I guess I will have to put up my own virtual world, and opt in or out, in the meantime here is this ‘virtual’ model that I am trying to make not more real, just a painting…
But of course I have also, once in a while to go back to real work, trying to master how to draw a sewer network in Civil 3D….I wish I would be rich enough to stay in front of the easel and paint Miki, it is her name given by the people who designed this model, like royalty they have number, her is Miki 2, I think they are up to Miki 4 or 5…of course I would prefer to continue, but I must go back, or take the pill, the blue or the red, I can’t remember….
Mais bien sûr, à l’occasion, de moins en moins souvent, je dois retourner aux ‘choses sérieuses’, comme dessiner en Civil 3D un réseau d’égout pluvial, un peu moins palpitant que de dessiner Miki, c’est son nom de ‘modèle virtuel’ et comme avec la royauté elles et ils ont leur numéro, c’est Miki 2, quoiqu’il y a des versions plus avancées, que les designers de modèles simulés développent régulièrement, pense qu’ils sont rendus à 4 ou 5, ah je prendrais bien la pilule bleue, ou est-ce la rouge ?
Le modèle est comme mentionné, un personnage qu’on peut poser ou animer dans Poser ou Daz Studio, un rendu du modèle, posée d’après la pose approximative de l’esquisse et superposé à une version précédente du tableau / As I wrote, this is a numeric model, you can pose or animate it, here I did a pose similar to the one on a life model sketch, and superposed to another image of this in progress painting.
Cela me rappelle que je devrais photographier quelques esquisses, j’en ai des tonnes…This remind me that I should get going again photographing those sketches, I have hundreds of them…
