Aussi bien continuer avec la suite de l’article précédent, je ne me souviens plus d’ailleurs si on partait ou on arrivait, enfin sur celle-ci on voit la raison pour laquelle on allait là, la station métorologique, pas une simple station une de celles qui ceinturent la planète et font partie du réseau mondial, de ces stations deux fois par jour on lance des ballons sondes, gonflé à l’hydrogène et ces ballons tout au long de leur montée, prennent des mesures jusqu’au point où le ballon éclate, en haute atmosphère, ces données sont ensuite utilisées afin d’étudier le comportement du courant jet et servent à l’établissement de prévisions météo à long terme,; moi je n’y ai pas été souvent, c’est trop au sud…et on avait peu de travaux qui nécessitait de faire monter une équipe du sud, l’administration inuit du village s’occupait de fournir les services nécessaires à l’entretien du bâtiment, on y allait pour l’équipement météorologique, et moi ce n’était pas mon expertise, en fait pas sûr à ce moment-là qu’elle était vraiment mon expertise, un peu  connaissant en tout, expert en rien…donc parfois je prenais des photos pour le plaisir d’être là, à ce moment-là…

May as well keep going on with this morning post and flight, actually I am not sure if we were landing or taking off, but on this pic you can see the reason why we had to go there, a weather station, part of the international high atmosphere study network, twice a day , a weather balloon, inflated with hydrogen would be launched and while it went up to 100 km high into the atmosphere, it was relaying all kinds of meteorological data, which would be used to make long term weather forecast by studying how the Jet Stream was behaving. For my part I did not go to this particular station often, in fact this was the only time, this one was ‘too south’ for us to take in a crew, the Inuit administration was taking care of building and road maintenance, we would go there for the equipment, and this was not my field of expertise, in fact I am not sure what was my field of expertise…I was there to plan the work, do a bit of measuring, taking notes, answering crew men questions, helping them if I can, so I guess I was a bit of a Jack of all trades, and expert in none, so sometimes I just took pictures, just for the fun of being there and feeling very lucky to be there.

Donc je crois que ce sont les deux seules photos que j’aie de cette endroit…So I think, unless my memory is failing me, that these are the only two photos I have of this place…
